Augustino’s Italian Restaurant
Augustino's Italian Restaurant and Catering is a new, locally-owned restaurant located at Stop 11 and Emerson Avenue, across the street from St Francis Hospital South on the
south side of Indianapolis. Opening in the fall of 2003, the restaurant
is already receiving rave reviews.
August (Gus) Mascari grew up with authentic Sicilian food on his
grandmother's dinner table. His mother learned and preserved these same
authentic recipes, which are now being served to you. All of the sauces
are made from scratch with fresh ingredients.
Augustino's has a comfortable, romantic atmosphere for both couples and
families. The restaurant is decorated with black and white photographs
of family members from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. Three generations
of Mascari's and Bova Conti's are represented. The focal point of
the decor is the J. Bova Conti Italian grocery store mural, a replica of
the store that was owned and operated by Gus' grandparents, and
remembered to this day by many south-siders who visit the restaurant.
Augustino's Italian Restaurant offers a taste of Italy that only Italian
immigrants would recognize today. Their secrets are out, and are ready
to be served and appreciated by you and your family.
