Margaritas Mexican

La Margarita is no Americanized-version of a cantina. The Latin owners use family recipes to serve unique Mexican dishes and a variety of flavors of the venue's namesake drink. A small restaurant wedged into a strip mall on the city's northwest side, La Margarita's divided interior (smoking allowed on the bar side only)features festive Mexican costumes adorning the purple- and mustard-colored walls. Imported Mexican beer and margaritas are frequent requests, with the Colts Blue margarita scoring high with patrons during football games. The tamales and shrimp tequila are also favorites, but for something different, try the mole poblano (chocolate chicken). Colorful and quaint with satisfying fare, it's easy to get into the party mood at La Margarita. -- Lori Lovely
