I was happily surprised to discover that the Southside now has an excellent Japanese/Sushi restaurant. Yokohama is truly an outstanding restaurant and surpasses all of the sushi places I have tried in the greater Indianapolis area. I grew up on sushi in the Northwest with excellent restaurants serving this cuisine. Yokohama is in league with many of the restaurants in Seattle and Portland that I love.
We started with broiled Tuna cheek (fantastic!) and edamame. Also had the Dragon Fire roll, Spicy Salmon roll, and a broad selection of sushi and sashimi. We finished with the Mochi (one red bean and one mango). The food arrived quickly and with excellent preparation and presentation. The sushi/sashimi was outstanding, everything was extremely fresh and tasty. The two rolls were the best I have had in a long time (certainly the best I've ever had in the midwest). The service was outstanding. Also tried their Poochi Poochi (sparkling sake) which was quite nice. We'll be back soon and often. Truly a much needed addition to the Southside as well and the greater Indianapolis area.
